Behavior Coordinator

Location: Humane Society for Hamilton County 

Pay: $17–$18/hour | Full-time (flexible schedule with some nights/weekends)

At HSHC, caring for animals isn’t just a job—it’s our passion. As a Behavior Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in helping shelter animals thrive through enrichment, training, and behavior support. If you love working hands-on with animals and guiding others, this may be the perfect fit.

What You’ll Do

Support the Behavior Manager by implementing training & enrichment plans.

Work with dogs needing basic obedience, resource guarding rehab, or temperament retesting.

Develop litterbox interventions for cats and track progress in PetPoint.

Train and guide staff/volunteers in safe handling practices.

Counsel adopters on common behavior concerns.

Identify and support animals struggling with shelter life.

What We’re Looking For

2+ years of animal training experience (Fear-Free Certification preferred).

Strong communication skills and ability to guide staff/volunteers.

Comfortable in a busy, emotional shelter environment.

Able to lift 50 lbs and be on your feet most of the day.

Flexible to work some evenings/weekends.
