Cattery Attendant

Our Cattery team provides daily care and enrichment to shelter cats while maintaining a clean, safe, and low-stress environment. This role works closely with the Cattery Manager to ensure every cat receives the highest standard of care, while serving as a resource to staff and volunteers to support positive animal handling, identify medical or behavioral concerns, and maintain our no-kill standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform daily walkthroughs of the cattery to check each cat for abnormal activity (vomiting, diarrhea, injuries, etc.) and report concerns immediately.
- Maintain accurate medical notes in binders and communicate urgent needs to supervisors or veterinarians.
- Feed and provide fresh water according to schedules and protocols.
- Clean and disinfect cages, litter boxes, food/water bowls, bedding, and play areas to maintain an odor-free, low-stress environment.
- Assist with administering medications and restraining cats when needed.
- Provide enrichment, behavior modification, and gentle handling to support cat well-being.
- Assist with cat showings to potential adopters, providing friendly and professional customer service.
- Support kennel staff with cat temperament testing.
- Safely move cats between carriers, cages, and play areas.
- Maintain cleanliness and function of HSHC equipment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Friendly, positive, and able to motivate others.
- Schedule includes nights/weekends.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with animal-related sounds, smells, and allergens.
