Medical Intake Coordinator - Veterinary
Medical Intake Coordinator - Veterinary
The most important job you’ll ever love—and they can’t ask for it themselves. So, we’re asking for you.
Humane Society for Hamilton County | Fishers, IN$19.00–$22.00/hour | Full-Time
Every day, animals arrive at our doors scared, sick, and out of options. And every day, someone is there to catch them—to heal the wounds, calm the shaking, and start them on the road home. We’re looking for people with veterinary experience and big hearts to be exactly that.
As a Medical Intake Coordinator, you’ll be one of the first hands a rescued animal ever feels safe in. You’ll run the exams, give the vaccines, follow the treatment plans, and help move healthy pets onto the adoption floor and into the arms of the families who’ve been waiting for them. It’s the kind of work you feel in your bones—and go home proud of, every single night.
It’s fast-paced. It’s hands-on. Some days will test you. But if you’ve been waiting for a career that finally means something, this is it.
You might be the one if you:
- Have worked in a veterinary hospital, doing veterinary assistant or technician tasks
- Can confidently restrain dogs and cats for blood draws, injections, physical exams, and radiographs (experience with reactive dogs or fractious cats is a big plus)
- Have a sharp medical eye: you can tell normal health signs from abnormal ones and clearly tell the team what you’re seeing
- Think critically under pressure: you can triage animals and help decide the next steps in their care
- Know shelter illnesses, treatment plans, and animal behavior basics
- Believe every life is worth saving—our No-Kill Philosophy is who we are
What’s in it for you:
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance, plus 401(k) matching
- Vacation and PTO accruing from day one
- Discounted care and free supplies for your own pets
- A team that shows up for the same reason you will
